On the most basic level, seated meditation practice is the act of just sitting. How we sit, therefore, is vitally important to the quality of our practice.
If you haven’t given much thought to the way you’re sitting—or if you’ve been experiencing pain or physical discomfort in your practice—then it’s time to take a closer look at your posture.
Join us to discover the principles of meditation posture in this hour-long virtual workshop with Will Johnson, meditation teacher and author of The Posture of Meditation. In the workshop, Johnson will lead a demonstration and share his methods for awakening the body to sit with ease, comfort, and mindfulness. As you’ll discover, learning to sit is about more than comfort and alignment—it’s also about how to use the sitting posture as a vehicle for deep meditation and deep letting go.

Follow fifty pilgrims as they travel to the roof of the world for the spiritual adventure of a lifetime. In 2002, ordinary people from around the globe were drawn to this mystical land of enlightenment. Guided by renowned Tibetan master Lama Zopa Rinpoche, this was no common tourist trek, but a rare and powerful experience in which the invisible world of great yogis and saints was magically revealed.
This intense journey takes one directly into the culture of Tibet and its arresting, spiritually rich landscape in a way that is not often seen. It explores the deep inner meaning of pilgrimage, which purifies the mind and creates the good heart. These pilgrims discovered more than temples and holy mountains. They touched the extraordinary potential of their minds, their enlightened nature.

What are the connection between Angkor Wat in the Jungle of Cambodia, the Pyramid in the desert of Egyptian desert, and monuments on Easter Island and in Micronesia? What is the under water mystery in Japan, the last time it above water was 10,000 years ago? Our ancestors are highly intelligent people, thousand years ago they precisely predicted the solar eclipse over Mexico in 1991.
In this set of three videotapes, writer Graham Hancock traverses the world and explains his controversial theory that an ancient civilization, highly intelligent people who sailed the planet as early as 10,500 B.C., spread advanced astronomical knowledge and built ancient observatories.
Skeptics may scoff, but Hancock earnestly points out similarities in giant stone structures in the Egyptian desert and Cambodian jungles, and on Easter Island and in Micronesia, he points out what he considers evidence of an ancient society of seafarers. His ideas may seem utterly bizarre at first, but Hancock presents them in an understated and good-natured manner, and he also makes clever use of computer graphics and aerial photography to illustrate the startling similarities in ancient structures found from the North Atlantic to the South Pacific.

We were handed a clean story. One explosion. One universe. One ending. Simple. Comfortable. And completely insufficient. Thousands of years before modern physics, the Vedic texts described something far more disturbing — not a universe, but a multiverse. Endless realities, bubbling into existence and collapsing again, over and over, like foam on a shoreless ocean. Our entire cosmos? A single bubble. Nothing more. What makes this impossible to dismiss is the precision. Cyclical creation, parallel worlds, a breathing cosmos — these aren't poetic metaphors. They're structural blueprints that mirror what quantum mechanics and string theory are only now catching up to. Someone mapped the architecture of reality long before we built the tools to see it. The question isn't whether they were right. The question is how they knew. In this deep dive, we uncover: The Vedic Multiverse: How ancient texts described "Infinite Millions of Universes" (Ananta Koti Brahmanda) and the cyclic nature of time long before the Big Bang theory. The Simulation Hypothesis: Why the Hindu concept of "Maya" mirrors modern code, and how Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva function as the Admin, Developer, and Garbage Collector of our cosmic server. Interdimensional Aliens: Why the "Greys" and extraterrestrials might actually be system administrators or "Asuras" logging in from the 14 Lokas (higher dimensions). Lost Ancient Technology: The technical manuals for Vimanas (Mercury Vortex Engines), the radiation signatures of the Brahmastra weapon, and the genetic engineering of test-tube clones in the Mahabharata. The Avatar Protocol: Understanding divine incarnations not as religious figures, but as external system patches designed to fix a corrupted timeline. Are we the only intelligent life? Or are we just the latest reboot of a hard drive that has crashed a thousand times before? Welcome to the deep end.

Jim Al-Khalili is an Iraqi-born theoretical physicist at the University of Surrey, where he holds a Distinguished Chair in physics as well as a university chair in the public engagement in science. He is also a prominent author and broadcaster. He has written 14 books on popular science and the history of science, between them translated into twenty-six languages. The book on which this lecture was based, The World According to Physics, was shortlisted for the Royal Society Book Prize. He is a regular presenter of TV science documentaries, such as the Bafta nominated Chemistry: a volatile history, and he hosts the long-running weekly BBC Radio 4 program, The Life Scientific. He tweets at @jimalkhalili. Despite his profile as a public scientist, Jim has continued to teach undergraduate physics students in an unbroken run of 29 years. He is a past president of the British Science Association and a recipient of the Royal Society’s Michael Faraday medal and the Wilkins-Bernal-Medawar Medal, the Institute of Physics Kelvin Medal and the Stephen Hawking Medal for Science Communication. He is a Patron and Vice-President of Humanists UK. He received an OBE in 2007 for ‘services to science’.
How much of an understanding do we currently have about the physical world and where does theoretical physics research stand in the third decade of the twenty-first century? Are we finally approaching the end of physics when the rich tapestry of the universe will be revealed to us and we will finally understand the true nature of reality? If we are honest then we must admit that while what we do know is dazzlingly impressive there is still much we have yet to grasp, all the way down to the fundamental nature of space and time to the meaning quantum mechanics, let alone mysteries of dark matter and dark energy. This episode starring world-famous physicist Jim Al-Khalili will shine a light onto the most profound insights revealed by modern physics, to reveal what this crucially important science tells us about the universe and the nature of reality itself. Al-Khalili begins by introducing the fundamental concepts of space, time, energy, and matter, and then describes the three pillars of modern physics—quantum theory, relativity, and thermodynamics—showing how all three must come together if we are ever to have a full understanding of reality. Using wonderful examples and thought-provoking analogies, Al-Khalili illuminates the physics of the extreme cosmic and quantum scales, the speculative frontiers of the field, and the physics that underpins our everyday experiences and technologies, bringing the reader up to speed with the biggest ideas in physics in just a few sittings. Physics is revealed as an intrepid human quest for ever more foundational principles that accurately explain the natural world we see around us, an undertaking guided by core values such as honesty and doubt. The knowledge discovered by physics both empowers and humbles us, and still, physics continues to delve valiantly into the unknown.
