A journey deep into the remote valleys of China’s Zhongnan Mountains to meet Buddhist hermits upholding a centuries-old tradition of solitude, simplicity, and awakening.

Fifteen years after releasing my first film, “Amongst White Clouds”, I returned to my archive of over one hundred hours of footage to create this completely new cinematic experience. Reimagined with previously unseen interviews, a new sound design by Douglas Quin, all-new narration, and more immersive editing style, “The Mountain Path” reveals a deepened perspective on my journey and the timeless wisdom of these hermit practitioners.
